Ryan Rogers

Co-host 

Ryan is Robert's son and has grown up in the hunting business.  Although Ryan is busy with his own company, you will still find him entertaining hunters, guiding,  and taking charge of the grill.

Robert is the founder and owner of Casa Monte Lodge. He and his wife, Laura, invite you to their little slice of heaven in the brush country of South Texas.

Justin Gilmore

Hunting / Marketing Manager

Justin is Robert's son-in-law and has been hunting his entire life. During the hunting season, he spends most of his time guiding hunters. During the offseason he and Robert are working to make the next season even better.

Mary Escamilla and Reyna Balderas

Lodge Staff

Mary (right) manages the lodge and lodge staff. She is a fantastic cook and has been with Casa Monte since 1995.  Her homemade enchiladas are legendary.  Reyna is also a fantastic cook and is always there to make sure your stay is the best it can be.  You won't go hungry with these two!


Michael Garcia and Manuel Gonzalez

Casa Monte Staff

Mike (left) and Manuel perform a wide array of tasks around the lodge.  The take care of everything from lodge maintenance to guiding hunters to game care.  If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask these two for help.

Our Guides

Artie Chapman

Artie has been hunting and guiding at Casa Monte for several years.  He is a very experienced hunter and helpful guide.

Steve Thompson

Steve is a great guide and very fun to hunt with.  Steve has hunted his entire life and will be a tremendous help.

Carl Notgrass

Carl has also hunted and guided at Casa Monte for many years.  He is an expert guide.  Very few people can field judge a deer as well as Carl.

Louis Gallet

Louis has known Robert since high school. He has hunted all over Texas for many years.  Not only is Louis a great guide, he will keep you highly entertained.

Rudy Medina

Rudy is another fun guy to hunt with.  He is very knowledgeable about deer and the area.
